Installing plumbing and heating systems in a diverse range of projects associated with the construction industry.
A plumbing and heating technician works on commercial, residential, agricultural, and industrial projects of varying size and scope from a single home repair job to large and complex facility projects.
They will plan and design, select and install, commission, test, report, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair systems to specifications. Whether it is working to provide safe and reliable service in accordance with relevant standards, diagnosing malfunctions, or programming and commissioning home and commercial automation systems, the expert in this field will need skills and habits in concentration, precision, accuracy and attention to detail.

Competitors are required to install plumbing and heating pipe-work with the materials provided.
It is important to prefabricate the required pipe-work layouts into sub assemblies to facilitate installation.
Competitors are also tested on their ability to repair, maintain or replace a specified plumbing or heating appliance.
Judges are looking for accuracy and attention to detail every step.
