Abu Dhabi’s flagship airline, Etihad Airways, has launched a new pre-flight video introducing WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 to all its passengers.
The 50-second clip, created by the event organizers ACTVET, will be played on all Etihad flights from 1st August until 30th September, giving it an audience of millions across its 111 passenger aircrafts.
The video will be played in 62 countries, across Etihad’s global network of 110 destinations reinforcing the global reach of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, which will welcome 1,300 Competitors from more than 70 nations to the UAE for the four-day event in less than three months’ time.
The in-flight animation demonstrates a number of the industry sectors that incorporate the 51 Skills which will be present at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre from 15-18 October, including Manufacturing and Engineering Technology, Transportation and Logistics, Creative Arts and Fashion, Social and Personal Services and Information and Communication Technology.
Etihad Airways is the official airline sponsor of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 and Hala Abu Dhabi, Destination Management Company of Etihad Airways, is the official customer service provider.
Hala Abu Dhabi has been working closely alongside the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi team in the development and delivery of all Destination Abu Dhabi packages providing a high level of customer service for all Competitors, delegates including all ground arrangements such as hotel accommodation, transportation and special events.

WorldSkills is the global hub for vocational skills. Every two years it hosts the world championships of skills where the world’s best talents compete in six main vocational sectors, which inspires thousands of young people to take up vocational careers.
This year’s event marks the first time it has taken place in the MENA region. Alongside the specially produced Etihad animation, similar videos will also be shown to the local community on cinema screens throughout the UAE as well as on the WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 social media channels.
In October this year, the 44th edition of the globally renowned event will be held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and organized by ACTVET, in partnership with Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority.
WorldSkills Competitions have taken place around the world – from South America to Europe, Asia, Australasia and now the Middle East. From handicrafts to multi-skilled careers in the industry and technology sectors, WorldSkills has showcased skills to millions of young people during its nearly 70-year history.
