For thousands of Emirati teenagers, this year’s EmiratesSkills Competition was also their introduction to WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017.
The WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 team engaged and entertained visitors to the United Arab Emirates' biggest skills competition with a stand that included a chance to try spray painting, thanks to partners Jotun, and a glimpse into the future of 3-D printing with Edutech and Autodesk.
Team members were on hand to answer questions about next year’s competition in both Arabic and English, handing out information packs that included promotional material, badges and a prized WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 coffee mug.
Those dropping by included Competitors, teachers, officials, and teenagers enrolled in local vocational colleges and schools, all bringing a genuine sense of excitement and anticipation for the 44th WorldSkills Competition.
Like EmiratesSkills 2016 national competition, WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017, will be held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, although on a much larger scale. For this event, team members also worked with EmiratesSkills volunteers to assist and observe the arrival of busloads of school children, a useful dress rehearsal for the global event next year.
