22 March 2017

Students design medals for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017

The Abu Dhabi Centre for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (ACTVET) has launched a competition to create medals for the winners of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. Zayed University students will compete to design the best medal that highlights authentic Emirati culture. The deadline is April 1st and the winners will be announced on April 15, 2017.

The competition is part of a wider program of opportunities for Emirati youth to be creative and innovative and will showcase talented designers from the Emirates to the world.

ACTVET believes competition encourages excellence in skills. The winning medal design, inspired by Emirati culture, will be worn by the winners of WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 in October and seen around the world.

The medal design will be three dimensional, contain two colors, shaped like a coin, inspired by Emirati culture, and reflect the achievements and successes of the United Arab Emirates.

The competition is one of ACTVET’s initiatives to promote different skills in Emirati youth in preparation for the big event that Abu Dhabi will host on October 14-19, 2017.
