Competition Preparation Week sets the stage for WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017

26 January 2017

As a vital part of preparations for the world’s biggest vocational skills competition, over 360 participants from 59 Member countries will gather in Abu Dhabi for Competition Preparation Week (CPW). During this time, they will engage in meetings, seminars, and venue tours to help with detailed preparation for the Competition in October.

Delegates will begin arriving on Friday January 27, with Welcome Dinner at the Fairmont Bab Al Bahr concluding their first day. The week’s programme includes meetings of the Competitions Committee, Skill Management Team, Workshop Managers, and various other plenaries.

In addition to formal meetings, WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 will host the launch of One School One Country, press and communications activities, the Marketing Communications Working Group, and the Sponsors Forum.

Participants can also take a tour of the city’s iconic sites, including the spectacular Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the world’s most popular tourist attractions. A farewell dinner will be held on Monday January 30 at the Yas Viceroy hotel.

The WorldSkills International Board of Directors and staff remain in Abu Dhabi for further meetings, ensuring preparations are on track for the 44th WorldSkills Competition.
