Countries and regions

In October 2017 the UAE offered its famous hospitality to the 77 Member countries and regions of the WorldSkills family. Fifty nine sent teams to Abu Dhabi.

Each Member selects and trains their Competitors. They are also responsible for promoting vocational education and training in their own country or region. Collectively the Members offer a unique network for sharing knowledge and experience to world class standards.

The growing number of WorldSkills Members demonstrates that traditional trades together with technology-based multi-skilled vocations are crucial to a thriving global economy and the social and economic well-being of people everywhere. Abu Dhabi is proud to welcome these Members to the first WorldSkills Competition to be held in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
